Project Manager
The Project Manager will be responsible for all stages of the Sol Focus solar power system installation projects of various sizes and locations within the US and some International. The PM will receive the program execution hand-off from Sales and engage with the Project Owner as the primary POC. The successful candidate will be expected to acquire required construction permits (the balance of entitlements will be conducted by others), maintain a project budget and schedule as well as manage construction contractors through the completion of the installation. The PM will also be required to communicate equipment supply needs for the project to SolFocus supply chain management. Required engineering needed for the permitting and construction of projects will need to be organized and managed to ensure timely delivery of all components. Engineering resources are available internal to SolFocus as well as externally and it is expected that the Project Manager will manage these resources complete the project on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Sales and Finance team by coordinating cross functional teams in the project definition, engineering and construction schedule activities consistent with the contract agreement.
- Generate contractor scope of work, BOM and bid packages for GC/EPC selection and contracting in the construction of CPV solar fields.
- Deliver Projects on time and on budget by managing the project installations from permitting through commissioning, tailboard meetings and site inspections as required.
- Provide training to Customers and GC/EPC partners in the assembly, installation and Operations & Maintenance or SF CPV Systems.
- Manage SolFocus Construction Supervisors as required in the construction of the CPV solar fields.
- Maintain a constant and open line of communication with customers during the project execution phase to manage all customer expectations and ensure customer satisfaction and resolution of all issues.
- Participate in weekly schedule and cost project status reviews with the executive team to escalate issues for resolution as required.
- This role also requires a continuous improvement approach at project management and product deployment and maintenance. You will conduct post project assessments as required to identify issues and propose process and product changes to reduce cost and cycle time of deploying our products.
Skills
- Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, team work, and time management skills
- Fluent in the English language
- Proficiency with MS Office and MS Project
- General understanding of good construction practices, codes, and standards within the USA.
Qualifications
- BS Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent years in technical or project management position
- 10+ years experience in project construction management
- Solar Power/Renewable Energy Experience not required but a plus
