High energy output from solar equipment is the key way to drive the cost of solar energy down. SolFocus CPV systems are designed to provide the highest energy yield in the high solar resource regions of the world. In this 3rd Issue of SolNews the feature video explains the importance of high energy yield and how it's being achieved with high efficiency panels, consistent energy production, and the ability to not have high temperatures impact energy production as do other PV technologies.
The second key cost driver is manufacturing. As we discussed in the last issue, high-volume manufacturing and certifications are fully in place. At the end of the day our focus has been and will continue to be driving the cost down while driving the energy yield up, thus delivering the lowest levelized cost of energy.
